About 'hendrix school'|May 20th 7:22 PM From Adult School again. Seems like another wasted.... Isn't this the age that Morrison and Hendrix self-destructed My life is...

Teenagers               have               always               been               perceived               as               only               acting               in               their               own               best               interest,               and               not               caring               about               the               emotions               of               others               or               the               welfare               of               their               future.

The               new               comedy               "We               the               Party"               offers               a               refreshing               alternative               to               the               idea,               showcasing               that               teens               can               succeed               in               whatever               they               put               their               minds               to.

The               film               takes               a               risk               in               trying               to               send               its               all-important               message               through               several               different               minorities,               but               the               main               characters'               varying               ethnicities               ultimately               helps               prove               the               idea               that               all               races               do               face               the               obstacle               of               oppression               at               times.
"We               the               Party"               takes               a               contemporary               look               at               the               struggles               and               coming               of               age               of               the               first               generation               of               high               school               students               affected               by               the               Obama               administration.

Set               against               the               latest               trends               in               music,               dance               and               fashion               in               an               ethnically               diverse               Los               Angeles               school,               the               comedy               follows               five               friends,               including               Hendrix               Sutton               (played               by               Mandela               Van               Peebles),               as               they               struggle               with               romance               and               money.
While               Hendrix               is               concerned               about               making               money               to               buy               a               car               and               impressing               the               older               Cheyenne               Davis               (portrayed               by               Simone               Battle),               his               father               (portrayed               by               writer-director               Mario               Van               Peebles),               who               is               also               one               of               his               teachers,               wants               him               to               improve               his               grades.

Hendrix               is               caught               between               impressing               his               peers               and               pleasing               his               father,               and               must               decide               which               road               he               wants               to               pursue.
"We               the               Party"               offers               a               realistic,               insightful               look               into               the               maturing               world               of               teenagers               and               the               ever-increasing               pressures               they're               forced               to               live               up               to               during               their               time               in               high               school.

One               of               the               main               issues               is               their               constant               use               of               social               media,               which               tracks               every               minute               of               people's               personal               lives,               which               at               times               can               negatively               affect               their               grades.

Therefore,               students               need               to               work               harder               to               distinguish               their               academic               achievements               and               positive               attributes               from               their               private               moments,               and               prove               they're               smart,               despite               their               occasional               lack               in               judgment.
For               example,               when               Hendrix               makes               a               bet               with               his               friends               to               lose               their               virginity               by               the               prom,               he               aims               his               sights               on               Cheyenne.

While               he               genuinely               cares               about               her,               Hendrix               also               sees               her               as               a               means               to               win               the               bet.

When               the               bet               is               leaked               on               the               Internet,               Cheyenne               is               hurt               by               the               betrayal.

Hendrix               must               prove               to               Cheyenne               that               the               bet               was               a               mistake,               and               he               does               truly               care               about               her.
Hendrix               is               the               perfect               example               of               the               typical               male               student               who               wants               to               fit               in               with               his               peers,               have               fun               with               his               friends               and               impress               the               girl               he's               romantically               interested               in.

He               is               the               perfect               catalyst               for               families               to               discuss               why               it's               important               to               stand               up               for               doing               what's               morally               right,               however,               as               he               drastically               matures               over               the               course               of               "We               the               Party."               He               sees               the               pain               he               caused               Cheyenne               when               she               found               out               about               the               bet,               and               is               determined               to               do               what               whatever               it               takes               to               show               he               no               longer               cares               about               beating               his               friends.
The               director's               decision               to               hire               his               son               to               play               the               main               role               perfectly               reflects               the               struggles               Hendrix               faces               as               the               son               of               a               teacher               at               his               school.

Since               Mario               is               an               established               actor,               director               and               writer,               Mandela,               like               Hendrix,               has               to               prove               he               doesn't               receive               special               treatment               just               because               of               who               his               father               is.

The               younger               actor               succeeded               in               showing               that               he               deserves               to               be               in               the               film               because               of               his               skills,               not               because               he               received               special               treatment               from               his               father;               he               convincingly               matured               his               character               over               the               course               of               the               film.

While               Hendrix               started               off               as               not               caring               about               other               people's               opinions               and               feelings,               he               comes               to               want               to               protect               and               stand               up               for               everyone               around               him.
"We               the               Party"               accurately               portrays               the               continuous               struggles               teenagers               today               are               facing,               and               the               ever-evolving               maturity               they've               acquired               as               a               result.

While               they're               perceived               to               only               be               concerned               about               the               latest               happenings               on               their               social               networks,               Hendrix               proves               that               teens               today               do               strive               to               maintain               real-life               emotional               relationships,               and               do               what's               morally               right               for               the               good               of               their               community.

The               comedy               doesn't               just               showcase               the               latest               music               and               fashion;               it               more               importantly               focuses               on               the               emotional               development               teens               are               going               through               and               experiencing               today.
